Valon ja aineen keskusteluja on Emma Fältin ja Roberto Pugliesen prosessinomainen ja kokeellinen teossarja, jossa musteella tehty piirros keskustelee ja ajattelee yhdessä ja digitaalisen jäljen kanssa. Työssä tutkimme materiaalisuutta ja immateriaalisuutta valon ja aineen värähtelyjen innoittamina.

Työssä liikkuvan kehon ja sen eleiden jättämä materiaalinen jälki yhdistyy projisoituun jälkeen. Perinteiset, lähes pyhät työvälineet -muste, sivellin ja paperi- sekä luonnosta kerätyt elementit, kuten oksat ja kivet kohtaavat digitaalisen piirustustyökalun, instrumentin, joka muodostuu ohjelmistosta, tabletista ja ohjaimesta.

On-going collaboration where we carry on a conversation between ink-based and digital drawing. We concentrate through improvisation and scores on each other action, gesture and energy in the trace. The project is also an investigation of the materiality, or the lack of it, of digital media, focusing on the relation between the surface and the substance it is made of, between the emitted light and the reflected drawing.

The dialogue between a physical media like ink and a non-linear media such as a computer generated drawing gives a chance to experiment with gestures divorced from traces.

From a technological standpoint, the project requires the development of software and design of interfaces, including a system of diffused projections that allows to seamlessly explore the dimension of projection spanning from illumination to drawing.
