celebrating distance and proximity in oulu

I am travelling today to one of my favourite cities from my childhood, Oulu to celebrate arts in the opening winter city festival of European Capital of Culture Oulu2026!

You will find me sharing one of my newest pieces from last year Celebrating distance and proximity, is published in collaboration with Reality Research Center https://todellisuus.fi/in-english/ & ILME ry / Kehä Festival https://www.kulttuuriosuuskuntailme.fi/ilmeinenglish

This work is online and always open to experience wherever you are in the world. You just need your headphones and a piece of paper + black marker of some kind.

Come to visit, say hi and experience the piece at Cultural Centre Valve tomorrow 16.1.2026 between 16-18:30 ( Lobby of the Valvesali hall )

News 2020

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and safe ❤

This year I will be mostly working at the studio and learning something new, but there are some dates you can save:

In June there are sound drawing workshops for young in Kuopio. Go and book your place at https://www.kulttuuriareena44.fi/event/kesatoimintaa-kulttuuriareenalla-2020/

In September you can take part in Creating Space for Listening – performance at KEHÄ – festival in Oulu, Finland. Check out the info (right now only in Finnish) at https://www.kulttuuriosuuskuntailme.fi/keha2020

Also, Thinking through drawing is planning on having online symposium this year because our September meeting Drawing Together in New Paltz – New York has postponed to 2021. If you are interested in taking part, offering an online workshop or showing your work, please contact us. You can join our mailing list or write an email to brewdrawing@gmail.com. We will be telling more about it soon at https://www.thinkingthroughdrawing.org

Big Hugs,

Emma
