2B – Drawing Changes

Thinking through Drawing – online SYMPOSIUM

16.-18.10.2020

2020 has brought unprecedented health, environmental and human rights challenges that have required us to shift the way that we work, live, and interact in our daily lives.  Our communities are confronting inequality and injustice, and are demanding social change.  2B: Drawing Changes will provide context  in which to connect and converse about how our present moment is changing the ways that people make and share drawings, as well as drawing’s usefulness – as a tool for chronicling, confronting, conceiving and contributing  to opportunities for change that are presented by our times, our fears, our hopes and our hearts.
CALL FOR PRESENTERS AND WORKSHOP LEADERS:
Please contact us if you are interested in leading a workshop or presenting your recent research findings.

During the live event we have 12 slots for interactive workshops, of 45 minutes each . We also invite proposals for pre-recorded drawing workshops and academic presentations. We are particularly interested in workshops underpinned by cognitive science and recent research findings, as well as relating to our theme of Drawing Changes #drawingchanges, and the Big Draw 2020 green theme #climateofchange

We now invite you to submit proposals – please send an outline (100 word max) of your proposed workshop or presentation to drawingandcognition@gmail.com. Deadline: 1st August 2020.Those who are shortlisted will be invited to submit a 1 minute sample video.

News 2020

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and safe ❤

This year I will be mostly working at the studio and learning something new, but there are some dates you can save:

In June there are sound drawing workshops for young in Kuopio. Go and book your place at https://www.kulttuuriareena44.fi/event/kesatoimintaa-kulttuuriareenalla-2020/

In September you can take part in Creating Space for Listening – performance at KEHÄ – festival in Oulu, Finland. Check out the info (right now only in Finnish) at https://www.kulttuuriosuuskuntailme.fi/keha2020

Also, Thinking through drawing is planning on having online symposium this year because our September meeting Drawing Together in New Paltz – New York has postponed to 2021. If you are interested in taking part, offering an online workshop or showing your work, please contact us. You can join our mailing list or write an email to brewdrawing@gmail.com. We will be telling more about it soon at https://www.thinkingthroughdrawing.org

Big Hugs,

Emma
